Prizes

There is one (1) Grand Prize and fifteen (15) Second Prizes available to be won: Grand Prize
  • One (1) trip for two (2) to Tahiti consisting of; round trip economy air travel for two from the major Canadian commercial airport closest to the winner's residence (Departure Point) to Papeete, capital city of Tahiti (French Polynesia), six nights and seven days accommodations (two nights in Papeete and four nights in Moorea) for two based on one room double occupancy, air transfers between Papeete and Moorea and ground transfers between destination airports and destination hotels. Also included are daily breakfasts and dinners at each of the destination hotels. Hotel accommodations subject to availability. Air travel scheduling subject to seat availability. Restrictions and blackout periods may apply. Air travel must be redeemed between June 30, 2004 and June 30, 2005. Subject to black out periods. Air carrier used and flight times scheduled are at the discretion of Tours Chanteclerc. Approximate retail value $12,000.00 CDN based on Toronto departure. Actual retail value will vary based on Departure Point and airfare fluctuations.
  • All incremental costs in using or claiming the Grand Prize not outlined in this prize description are the sole responsibility of the Grand Prize winner and his/her Travel Partners including but not limited to: Airport departure taxes, currency surcharges, meals, beverages, gratuities, entertainment, excursions, merchandise, souvenirs, local and long distance telephone calls, medical, travel and cancellation insurance together with any required travel documentation, and all personal expenses of any kind or nature. The Grand Prize winner and his/her Travel Partner are also solely responsible for all costs incurred to and from the Departure Point as the Grand Prize originates and terminates there. It is recommended that the Grand Prize winner and his/her Travel Partner obtain sufficient personal insurance prior to departure. Trip must be taken between June 30, 2004 and June 30, 2005 and will not be rescheduled or substituted once booked. Trip must be booked at least 60 days prior to travel dates. Travel arrangements must be made through Tours Chanteclerc and the Grand Prize winner and his/her Travel Partner will be required to travel together, on the same itinerary. If a potential winner cannot travel by the dates specified, such potential winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner will be selected. Prize must be accepted as described in these rules and cannot be transferred to another person, substituted for another prize, or exchanged in whole or in part, for cash, subject to the provisions set forth elsewhere in these rules.

How to Participate
  1. There are three methods to enter: 1. By fully completing, correctly answering, unaided, the skill-testing question and submitting the Official Famous Fashion and Beauty Brands Contest Entry Form available at http://chatelaine.com or http://chatelaine.qc.ca 2; By fully completing the Official Contest Entry Form available at participating Fruits & Passion locations in Canada, and depositing it in the Official Famous Fashion and Beauty Brands Contest ballot boxes located in participating Fruits & Passion locations between open of business March 5, 2004 and close of business May 1, 2004. 3; By fully completing and correctly answering, unaided, the skill-testing question on the Official Contest Entry Form printed in the April 2004 issues of Chatelaine and Châtelaine magazines and mailing it to Famous Fashion and Beauty Brands Contest, P.O. Box 650, Station A, Etobicoke, Ontario M9C 5M9. Hand drawn or mechanically reproduced facsimiles will not be accepted. Limit 1 entry per person. No purchase necessary
  2. This Contest starts on Friday, March 5, 2004 at 5:00 PM ET and ends on Saturday, May 1, 2004 11:59 PM ET.
  3. No responsibility is assumed by Rogers Media Inc., Tours Chanteclerc, Air Canada, Air Tahiti Nui, Fruits & Passion their affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies, their respective directors, officers, employees and assigns, for any disruption to telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software or failure of any entry to be received because of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof, as well as lost, misdirected illegible or late entries which for any reason are not received.

Eligibility
  1. This Contest is only open to legal residents of Canada, who have reached the age of majority in their province of residence and are residing in Canada at the time of this Contest.
  2. To be eligible all on-line entries must be received on or before Saturday, May 1, 2004 11:59 PM ET. In-store entries must be received by store closing May 1, 2004. Mail-in entries must be post-marked no later than Saturday, May 1, 2004 and be received by Friday, May 7, 2004
  3. To be eligible for this Contest, an entrants’ answer to the skill-testing question must be verified and determined to be correct. Should an In-store entry be selected, the entrant must correctly answer, unaided, a time limited mathematical skill testing question to be administered at a mutually convenient time over the telephone. There will be only one opportunity to answer the mathematical skill-testing question. An eligible entrant who provides an incorrect answer will not be eligible to win a Prize in this Contest.3. To be eligible for this Contest, an entrants’ answer to the skill-testing question must be verified and determined to be correct. Should an In-store entry be selected, the entrant must correctly answer, unaided, a time limited mathematical skill testing question to be administered at a mutually convenient time over the telephone. There will be only one opportunity to answer the mathematical skill-testing question. An eligible entrant who provides an incorrect answer will not be eligible to win a Prize in this Contest.
  4. Employees of Rogers Media Inc., Tours Chanteclerc, Air Canada, Air Tahiti Nui, Fruits & Passion (the contest "Sponsors"), their partners, affiliates, divisions, subsidiaries, suppliers, printers, distributors, and persons with whom they are domiciled, are not eligible to participate in this Contest.

How to Win
  1. On Wednesday, May 12, 2004 in Toronto at 10:00 AM ET, sixteen (16) eligible entrants will be selected by random draw from all eligible entries received and will be eligible to win one of the Prizes available in this Contest. Prizes will be awarded based on the order in which the entrants' names are drawn starting with the first entry drawn eligible for the Grand Prize, the next fifteen entries eligible for the Second Prizes.
  2. Starting Monday, May 17, 2004, attempts will be made to contact the entrants selected as eligible for a Prize, at the telephone number on their Official Contest Entry Form between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM ET for a period of 5 working days. If an eligible entrant cannot be contacted within the allotted time, he/she is no longer eligible to win and another entrant will be drawn and the process of contacting the new entrant will be repeated. No communication will be entered into except with the selected entrants.
  3. In order to be declared a winner, the entrants selected as eligible for a Prize, must complete and sign a Release & Indemnity Form (see General Rule 6). The procedure outlined in points 1, 2 and 3 above will be followed until all Prizes in this Contest have been awarded. The Grand Prize Winner's Travel Partner must also sign a Release and Indemnity form.
  4. The odds of winning depend on the combined number of all eligible Official Contest Entry Forms received.

General Rules
  1. All entries become the property of Rogers Media Inc., and none shall be returned.
  2. All decisions regarding this Contest and the selection of the winners remain with the Sponsors and their promotional agencies and are final.
  3. No Prize substitutions will be made, except for the right of the Sponsors to make a Prize substitution of equivalent or greater value in the event a Prize is unavailable for reasons beyond the Sponsors' control.
  4. The Sponsors, their affiliates and respective advertising and promotions agencies are not responsible for printing, distribution or production errors and may terminate or withdraw this Contest without liability at their sole discretion.
  5. Rogers Media Inc., reserves the right to modify or cancel this Contest in the event of technical corruption, virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or any other technical problems, which may arise from time-to-time beyond the control of Rogers Media Inc., destroying the integrity of this Contest. No liability or responsibility is assumed by Rogers Media Inc., resulting from user attempts to participate in this Contest or if required, download any information necessary to participate in this Contest.
  6. By entering, a Prize Winner agrees to sign a Release and Indemnity Form, releasing the Sponsors, their affiliates and respective advertising and promotions agencies from any liability in connection with this Contest or the Prizes awarded.
  7. By accepting a Prize in this Contest, a Prize Winner agrees to hold the Sponsors, their affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies, their respective directors, officers, employees and assigns, harmless from and against any and all claims and liability arising out of or in any way connected with the operation of this Contest and use of a Prize. A Prize Winner assumes all liability for any injury or damage caused, or claimed to be caused, by participation in this Contest or use or redemption of a Prize. By participating in this Contest, entrants agree to be bound by the Official Contest Rules and Regulations and the decisions of the contest judges.
  8. By entering this Contest all entrants, should they win, agree to the use of their name, address (city only), photo, and/or image on videotape for publicity purposes relating exclusively to this Contest without compensation.
  9. Rogers Media Inc., reserves the right to disqualify any individual whom it finds to be in violation of these Official Contest Rules and Regulations or tampering with the entry process. Rogers Media Inc., reserves the right to refuse an entry from a person whose eligibility is in question or who has been disqualified or is otherwise ineligible to enter. Any attempt by anyone to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is in violation of criminal and civil laws and Rogers Media Inc., reserves the right to seek damages or other legal remedy to the fullest extent permitted by law.
  10. This contest and the terms and conditions contained in these Official Contest Rules and Regulations, shall be exclusively governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute arising hereunder shall be adjudicated solely in the applicable court in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
  11. Where applicable, this Contest is subject to all federal, provincial and municipal laws. For Quebec residents, any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of this Contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcohols, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize can only be submitted to the Régie for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
  12. Personal Information Privacy Policy: In accordance with Federal Privacy Legislation (P.I.P.E.D.A.), the purpose for which personal information is collected, used and/or disclosed must be detailed at the time of collection. Personal information collected through this Contest (your name, address, telephone number and email address) will be used exclusively by Rogers Media Inc., for the purposes of executing this Contest only and will not be transferred to any Third Party what-so-ever.
